I'm a 3rd Grade Teacher. Where Can I Get Free Educational Posters for my Room?
Hey all! This is my first year as a teacher and I'm in 3rd grade. Does anyone know where I can get free posters online so I can decorate my class? Thanks for your help! Melissa

- Do you know any teachers who are retiring or moving to a resource or administrative position? They will have tons of stuff (posters and more!) that they will no longer have use for and would love to give away. The above answer gave some good suggestions. But for the most part, it is hard to come by free stuff that is exactly what you want. Some posters might be simple to make on your own. Like a math chart with different measurements on them (capacity, time, length, weight, etc.) and their relation to each other. For example you could make a chart with a picture of a "cup" on it. then a picture of 2 cups equally a pint. Then a picture of 2 pints equally a quart, and 4 quarts equalling a gallon. You could do that for lots of math stuff. Some school districts also have those poster maker machines. You print out a document from the computer, put it through the machine, and it makes a big poster size copy of the document. That could save you a lot of money if you create your own posters in word or publisher or something. You could also spend some time searching the clearance shelves at teacher supply stores for discounted posters. Try not to worry about getting too many posters. Your school might have some required things you need to hang up. Like I have to have this one particular reading strategies poster and a rights and responsibilities poster. Plus you want to leave space to hang student work.
