Are posters at science symposiums presented by professors or students? I plan on pursuing graduate studies in systems biology, and so I was going to go to a systems biology symposium this Friday at Duke University since I figured this would be a good networking opportunity. They have a poster session in the afternoon (which I figure will be my main networking opportunity), and so I am wondering if the posters will be presented by professors or by students. The reason I'm asking is because, if they will be presented by professors, it would be a good opportunity to meet some professors in the field and increase my chances of getting accepted (which would not really be the case if they were presented by students). Bringing science fair poster on airplane? I need to bring a science fair poster board (standard size) from San Jose to Los Angeles by plane. However, the board is too big for the carry-on size, and I am afraid it will suffer considerable damage if put in the baggage area. Has anybody had any experience before regarding this?
